I used to battle that very thing, (especially coming out of a first marriage where this occurred! It was down right tough to trust again.) Now when the thought comes to mind I cast it down & say out loud for my own ears to hear ( faith comes by hearing ) "i can safely trust my husband" I saw this somewhere in the bible & latched on to it..I also praise him for my current husband! sometimes i don't "feel" like it, but i do it in faith! It's always a good thing to be reminded by others that God didn't call us to live in fear; He has given us victory and freedom. Though the circumstances were different (the person asking the question's dad committed suicide when he was 11 leaving his mom to raise 4 kids on her own), he couldn't move past this incident to trust others. Joel came back to say that God had this planned for his life, but over the years has given him the tools to equip him to trust others. Thoight he may not have had a father figure his Heavenly Father wants to be that father figure for him. His first step for him was to use "I am" statements to work on establishing trust. Like "I am not going to get hurt." "I am going to trust this person."<br /><br />You are blessed with a wonderful husband and family! However, I too have my own anxieties, so I know how hard that is to move past them! Xo!!katie@tulsadetailshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07816292082787421154noreply@blogger.com
